Inaugural Pittsburgh Classic

K & L Motorsports provided the local Pittsburgh Vw Fans with the Inaugural Pittsburgh Classic located at Pittsburgh Raceway Park. The grassy area was full of Show Cars, Vendor Row had just about anything you needed, and the first round of qualifying for drag racing provided plenty of WHEELS UP action.

In Super Pro it was Ohio Tom Simpson facing Michigans Own Bill Edwards. Tom Simpson dialed in a 7.43et against Bill Edwards 6.30et. Ohio Tom was given the green light first and left with a .036 reaction time, shortly after Bill left with a .012. At the top end Bill pushed it a little too much and broke out and gave the win to Ohio Tom. This was the second time this year Ohio Tom was in the finals at a Vw Event here at Pittsburgh Raceway Park. Back in June he faced off against Doug Dowd and unfortunately was runner up. This time around he ended up in the winners circle and took home the the winning purse.

In the Pro Class it was Gary Seignur facing off against Jack Lodermeier in the final round of competition. This race was pretty much over from the start of the race. Gary Seigner had a HUGE holeshot off the starting line and never looked back and ran a 8.30et on a 8.22et dial in. Gary also took home the victory in the gamblers race facing off against Ray Fraicola.
